David's Tea Time: Karigane Houjicha

Our Karigane Houjicha goes through a lighter roasting process than our standard Houji-Kukicha, which retains it’s rich umami character while having a pleasant roasted aroma and flavor. You’ll notice here that the color of the brew is a bit lighter as well, and appears more viscous than a standard Houji-Kukicha. Karigane is made of Gyokuro stems which Kukicha is made of Sencha stems. The calming, roasted aroma of this tea fills the room. It might be nice to have after a long day at work, when you want to have a quiet cup of tea to yourself or to share it with those close to you as the sun is setting.
