My First Matcha: Matcha Usucha
This matcha holds a special place in my heart. It was the first ceremonial grade matcha I tried. Before this matcha, I don't think I had had ceremonial-grade matcha before. This is the matcha I used to practice brewing matcha the traditional way.
I am glad I started with this one too. Some might like to start out with our Matcha Chiyo-no-Shiro but I did not know this at the time. So I went with the Matcha Usucha. It has a wonderful umami sweet aroma and taste that I was fortunate enough to experience.
It is quite different than the culinary matcha I had tried previously but I believe this was because a lot of culinary matcha, to my knowledge, is created with the intention of blending it with a sweetener. People can enjoy matcha in all sorts of ways,though, and we wish you all serene tea times.
