Chopstick rests are called hashioki in Japan. Hashi means "chopstick" and oki means "putting". It is similar to a knife or a spoon rest, used to keep the chopsticks tips off the table. Chopstick rests are found more commonly in restaurants than in homes or when you have guests visiting. Although there are many shapes of chopstick rest, this kyusu shape is rare, and even rarer with a Den-chan image. Comes as a set of two.
