The Nichijo matcha is our entry-level ceremonial matcha.
This is your go-to daily drinker that won't break the bank. You might use it to greet your weekday early mornings or sip on it while studying or working. In fact, the word nichijo can translate to "daily" in Japanese. Use this matcha to make an unadulterated bowl of green or to make a premium matcha latte.
The matcha itself is actually made from many different first flush tenchas. When we tasted it, we enjoyed its smoothness and approachability and struggled to find specific tasting notes because of this blending. Ultimately, we found this tea to be consistent and simple.
Origin: Kagoshima, Uji, Kyoto
Harvest: First Flush
Cultivar: Yabukita, Goko
Tasting Profile:
Smooth, simple and consistent. It has an easy-going creamy mouthfeel, a subtle sweetness and a little bitterness with a note of astringency at the end. The initially "sweetness" that is experienced reminded us of the softness of a croissant.
