The surface is coated with a vidro glaze. Vidro glaze is a green, glassy glaze. It is also known as “natural glaze” because of the natural ash from the firewood used as fuel. Therefore, each piece is a one-of-a-kind product with individual differences.

Pottery
Mino-yaki has been made in the Gifu Prefecture since 15th century. Now it is the biggest pottery production kiln in Japan. Famous Shino and Oribe styles are a part of Mino-yaki.
