Hakudei Asamaru Kyusu is recommended by the Japanese Tea Instructors Association and features a tea strainer called a Sasame. Compared to other kyusus, it has a very fine ceramic mesh and can brew a wide variety of teas. It is very comfortable in the hand and will make delicious tea, even for first-timers.

It is especially recommended for loose teas with large leaves, but can also be used for high grade deep steamed tea. It is available in two sizes, with the small size being particularly suitable for making Gyokuro.

Hakudei Asamaru Kyusu M: 6.7oz / 7.0"D (including a handle) X 3.75"H
Hakudei Asamaru Kyusu XS: 3.0oz / 5.5"D (including a handle) X 2.5"H

Pottery:
Takasuke, Tokoname - Takasuke has introduced new manufacturing methods to not only Tokoname but also to the kyusu industry. The famous “Sasame” tea strainer can only be made by Takasuke. Currently, the second generation is carrying on the tradition and spirit of their ancestors. Tokoname is one of the Six Old Kilns of Japan and has been a pottery center since the 12th century. It is especially famous for its unglazed pottery.
