This low profile kyusu allows the tea leaves to open up even with a small amount of hot water, and the flavor and natural aroma are fully extracted. It is suitable for Shincha, high-grade Sencha, and Gyokuro made from young tea leaves. Not for Fukamushi stye Sencha.

Tamamitsu Hikamahen Kyusu is made for the simple and lean design. The beautiful shape is created in the high skilled craftsman in Gyokko pottery.

Pottery: Gyokko Toen, Tokoname - Gyokko pottery is led by Mr. Hirotaka Umehara and his family. They are making products by combining their highly honed individual skills. Mr. Umehara is a traditional craftsman and a recipient of the Order of the Sacred Treasure and is one of the most respected craftsmen in Tokoname. Tokoname is one of the Six Old Kilns of Japan and has been a pottery center since the 12th century. It is especially famous for its unglazed pottery.
