This bowl allows you to share matcha with friends and easily pour matcha over milk to make lattes. You can also brew powdered hojicha in this bowl to serve it over ice cream or as a latte. While the spout is physically such a small part of the bowl, it can make the difference between spilling and not spilling your tea when pouring. The glaze used is a white matte glaze that is smooth to the touch.

Potter:

Chizuko Uchiyama, Tokoname - When she was in high school, she saw a video of shapes being created on a spinning potter's wheel. She was struck by how mystical it seemed.

After graduating from university, when she considered changing careers from the housing manufacturer where she had been working, that video came back to her. It was the starting point for everything. She had an encounter with a master in Tokoname, for which she can never thank him enough, and she became engrossed in making teapots. However, the more she did, the more she hit a wall.

She gave birth, became a mother, and took a six-year break to raise her child. That break was truly a time for rebirth. Now, the exciting world of teapot making is beginning for her. She continues her work in Yaizu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, where she was born
and raised. Tokoname is one of the Six Old Kilns of Japan and has been a pottery center since the 12th century. It is especially famous for its unglazed pottery.
