Awaken with the dawning sun. This matcha bowl gets its name from the color of the clear morning sky when the sun quietly rises from the east. This phenomenon is known as asayake, while usu refers to the light color of the sky. Suffice it to say, this bowl can remind one of tranquil early mornings, enjoying a warm bowl of matcha in the silence.

About Hagi Ware
Hagi ware has been produced for over 400 years. Due to the coarse nature of its clay, it offers excellent permeability, moisture retention, and heat retention properties.
One of the distinctive characteristics of Hagi ware is the development of fine surface cracks known as "kannyu" (crazing) over time with use. Appreciating these subtle changes is considered part of the charm of Hagi ware.
As the piece is used, its appearance gradually changes and deepens in character. This unique transformation is often referred to as "Hagi no Nanabake" ("the seven transformations of Hagi ware"), reflecting the way the vessel's color and texture evolve over time.
