Hot Matcha Latte, Anyone?
There are few comforts like a hot cup of tea on a cold day. This is especially true for hot matcha lattes. Here is a recipe that you can follow:
For the recipe, you'll need:
- 1 tablespoon of matcha
- 2 oz of water
- 6 oz of hot, frothed milk
- (Optional) Some additional thickly brewed matcha
Start by heating your milk. Once heated, froth the milk. While you can use an espresso machine to do this, not everyone has an espresso machine. We've found that using a milk frother, such as our Den-chan Electric Frother, works great to make the milk foamy.
Then make a thick brew of matcha, (also known as koicha). You can also use the brother for this as well, making the thick matcha in a separate container.
Add this matcha to the bottom of your serving cup, then pour in the hot milk.
There should be a thick foam that forms at the top. Your latte is ready.
Additionally, you can add some art to your latte by using some more koicha.
Finally, we also made a short video showing the process:
We hope you all have a chance to try this recipe at home!
