Kukicha Galore
This week, we are featuring our Kukicha options. Kukicha is excellent for those who like casual-brewing teas with more of a mild flavor. This tea type can certainly become bitter if over-steeped, but, generally, they are quite forgiving i.e. they do not brew very bitter.
Kukicha is known to have less caffeine than sencha in general because the leaves actually carry a majority of the caffeine, while the stems contain more L-theanine. L-theanine is an amino acid found in tea that is known to help us relax. If you haven't tried kukicha before, we hope that you have the chance to!
