Wa means "Japan" and koucha means "red tea" in Japanese. Unlike the world standard tea classifications, black, oolong and green tea, Japan has classified this highly oxidized tea as red tea because of its color. It is good as straight tea or with milk. We wrap each bag in a foil pouch to insure freshness.
Brewing: Use one teabag and hot water. Steep for 30 seconds for a mild cup; longer for a deeper flavor.
