Incredible Green Cup

If you’ve brewed our Fukamushi Sencha Chiran, you likely noticed the vivid color of the infusion. Some tea lovers have even asked if it is really Sencha because of the beautiful jade green color like Gyokuro or even Matcha. 

Our Fukamushi-Sencha Chiran is made from a special tea cultivar called Asatsuyu. Asatsuyu is a very old cultivar, first registered in the 1950s, and is often described as "like Gyokuro" even though it is Sencha. In addition to the color, the flavor profile is also beyond Sencha with more of a slight nutty Umami flavor (like Edamame) than you might expect!
